Initial Conception:

As a student I have not always had vast sums of money to spend on beauty products but love to indulge in both high end and cheap and cheerful products alike. Those naughty splurges and regular staples have punctuated my life and caused me to amass a huge and almost burdensome collection of products; my knowledge and experience of which I want to share thus giving you the opportunity to make informed and sensible decisions on the high street.

I have followed a number of beauty blogs and found them to be helpful, balanced and inspiring by trying out products I had been on the fence about or unsure to try and well as pushed me to be more adventurous and daring in my own collection of both hair and beauty products.

However, throughout my early teens I struggled with frizzy and uncontrollable hair for which nobody seemed to have the answer; over the years I have learnt to love my curls and work around their very stubborn nature. Every opportunity I had to discuss products and styling techniques with other curly-haired men and women I have come across over the years has helped me tame my curls and make them work for me but I was never able to find such help online.

There are probably more beauty blogs out there than I have hairs on my head but not one I felt adequately dealt with the trials and tribulations that come with those blessed with curly hair. Curly hair takes many forms and each should be approached uniquely as not all products suit loose curls or afro curls as well as they may suit tighter ringlets like my own.  I want to celebrate our beautiful hair as well as delve into all areas of cosmetics and share the vast amount of products I have used over time to both work with and combat my hair and complexion; those which have been life savers, hidden gems and expensive duds. I hope you enjoy what may well be incoherent musings or tips and tricks to swear by, either way I want to offer a platform for women with distinctive and gorgeous hair to share their experiences and not give up, hiding their natural beauty and conform to straightened hair! Embrace your curls!

I always set aside enough of a budget to splurge on one beauty item a month…most of the time, it’s so worth it! Also, as someone with very curly hair, it’s easy to appreciate the longing to have frizzy hair controlled. Looking forward to seeing more posts from you!
